Ok, little bout me as just starting this. As you can see from the tittle this is my first blog. I'm 53 now with 5 kids. Most of them are grown. In May, after being bread winner and worker for years, I got sick. I mean scary sick. On 23rd of May I was admitted to Cleveland Clinic of South
Florida in excruciating pain. Within a week I had undergone 3 surgeries. Spent the month of June in hospitol bed. Long road and story short I was finally dx'ed with Crohns Disease. Not going to explain it right now but its not good. I haven't worked since May and the place I worked
at terminated me in November. Right or wrong of that maybe in another rambling. My insurance was cut off last day of December. Now what happens? They offer Cobra but for those
of us that know and faced with the choice, how can we afford those premiums. The new bill says it will take 60 percent and thats great but what bout us the just lost it?? I get have LTD insurance from where I worked but it only enough to pay for rent <> and the electric bill. I sujppose I may have to become a corporation to get a bailout?
Just being an ole country boy raised in the 70's I feel we have been let down. As long as the sun is shining all is well. And dont' come to me and speak about bad things. Everything is looking up and good. I'm sorry but that how our government, local and up higher even, wants to feel and wants us to be. When forced as now to see the economic slide we are in they are doing a knee jerk reaction. Which means somethings they do may work some may not but bottom line is those that feel thru the loops stays thru the loops with no assistance. Nothing more then " I'm sorry we can't help you" which translates to "sucks to be you" in my opinion. Right now I"m looking for trees to shake and toes to try to stomp on. There are to many people out there like me, with nothing to help us. Lot of us not asking for help because we dont' know who to ask or even what questions to ask. Sure we can push for bills and laws and stuff but when your cramping your guts out and in so much pain, then watching your family trying to make you comfortable and not knowing what to do ..well that Bill that they got setting on the corner of some politicians desk would be used better to wipe with. There needs to be something or some group in place to make immediate ammends or offer help. Why not ?? Hmmm because maybe we need to be pushed under the rug as our moneys go to the 'needy over sea's' in a place most of use will never see or even think of. Its not just about me or Crohns or UD. Not a single one diesease but its home. They say its the Christian or proper way to help those in need. We'll i'm sorry but that don't count if you ignore and not do anything for yours at home. Home and family should always come first. Even in the eyes of God.
Maybe more venting later. Maybe I won't ramble so much..but hey tis Ramblings :)
